Nature Photo: Wildflowers at Virginia's Natural Bridge

Miss me last week? I was exploring the Shenandoah Valley again for my anniversary. If you follow me on Facebook , you probably saw the selfie of Ogre and I in front of Virginia's Natural Bridge. The 215-foot limestone arch over Cedar Creek is quite awesome to behold from below. This white wildflower was the prettiest plant I could find growing out of the rock to photograph with the national historic landmark in the background! Pink Flower Photo: Bloom in Bridgewater

Ogre and I were charmed to stumble across several small parks while exploring the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia last May. During a drive through the town of Bridgewater, we followed signs to Wildwood Park. This pretty pink flower was practically unfurling its petals as we arrived. Does anyone know what the beauty is called? I look forward to what mysterious flowers are blooming when we go back for our anniversary. Manicure Monday: Porcelain Floral Nail Art by Jamberry Nails

I specifically picked out white flowers to match my manicure two weeks ago. For the first time ever, the fresh cut flowers outlasted the ones on my nails, as I just removed these Jamberry wraps yesterday. (The blue Porcelain design retired awhile ago, but there's still 2 available on Amazon.) You can bet I'll be buying more chrysanthemums in the future. And also sharing another picture of the beautiful bouquet without my hand obscuring it next Flower Friday. Want to be a guest blogger for my Manicure Monday when I don't have new nails of my own to show off? Please fill out the form on my contact page if you're interested in a free feature. Flower Photo: Passiflora Plant

A couple Saturdays ago, a friend told me about a unique plant her family received whose flowers only lasted a day and promised to text me when they bloomed. As soon as the first bud opened on Tuesday, she sent me a photo and I recognized it as a passion flower from hopping around your many Flower Friday photographs. Of course I had to witness its strange structure in person! I was not disappointed. I hadn't realized Passiflora vines were so big! The potted plant was taller than me. A few flowers were flourishing, with dozens more buds waiting to open on another day. Little green spiral tendrils tangled in my hair when I got too close with my camera. I wouldn't call passion flowers pretty per se, but they definitely pulled me in with their beauty!
