Jewelry Giveaway: Fairy Pendant on Velvet Choker

EDIT: Jewelry giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Beth Wiggins Chambers for submitting the randomly-chosen 391st entry. Mademoiselle Mermaid will email you soon with instructions on how to claim your prize. I should feel sad that the sun will soon set on the last day of summer since it sped by so swiftly. But I can't help but look forward to fall, my favorite season. The full moon closest to the autumnal equinox, the Harvest Moon, will rise September 16. To celebrate, the creativity of Mademoiselle Mermaid and I aligned to offer another jewelry giveaway. She recently released a new necklace design in her fashion shop that will thrill all dark fae. The Victorian choker features black velvet ribbon, sewn over ruffled floral lace, topped off with a lovely bow and antiqued silver oval pendant. She offers a choice of 20 of her nature photos inside, but for this giveaway only, she's created a prize with a print of my Moon Fairy drawing inside. Don't let your c...

Flower Photo: Stargazer Lily and ... Alien?

Insects have swarmed my blog this summer! Bees and butterflies made an appearance as usual, but for the first time, I photographed a Monarch chrysalis , Daddy Longlegs spider and now an ... alien? Sure, after some Googling, I realized he's masquerading on this planet as a brown praying mantis. But look at him defying gravity on that Stargazer lily! Flower Photo: Black-Eyed Susans Reaching For Sky

My soul feels like it has a black eye after this work week. Don't worry, Flower Friday will make it feel better! These beautiful Black-eyed Susans were across the parking lot from the Echinacea flowers I shared last week. I caught several awesome angles, so be sure to keep your eyes, no matter their color, on my Flower Photography Shop and Instagram account for more shots of this flowering plant from the sunflower family. Manicure Monday: Black and White Nail Art by Jamberry Nails

When flipping through my collection of Jamberry wraps to decide what to wear for Dover Comic Con last Saturday, this black and white splatter design popped out. I was going to post an Instagram photo holding a Sin City comic we had for sale at the convention, but a fan bought it before I got the chance. Thus Constantine gets to be my model instead! Justice League Dark #0 is available in our Comic Collector Live shop for just $1.50. Want to be a guest blogger for my Manicure Monday when I don't have new nails of my own to show off? Please fill out the form on my contact page if you're interested in a free feature. Justice League Comic Nail Art Finds

Flower Photo: Bee on Pink Coneflower

I have been buzzing around like a bee to get ready for vending at Dover Comic Con tomorrow. Thus I've been too busy to update my Flower Photography Shop or comment on as many of your blogs as usual. But, as always, I appreciate every single one of you, even those hiding in the shadows, who stop by for Flower Friday. I took today's photo of a pretty flower bed of Echinacea I couldn't ignore when walking back to my car after a doctor's appointment in Lewes, Delaware. Apparently they're commonly called purple coneflowers, but they sure look pink to me!
