Snow may be falling, but it smells like spring in my room! Ogre and I stopped at Produce Junction in Dover, Delaware last weekend and picked out pretty flowers for a bouquet. Not even vines could keep my feet on the ground when I saw the prices. A dozen pink ombre roses only cost $4, the hoary stock flowers (Matthiola incana, 'Katz Ruby') and fuchsia vase were $1.50 each!
It occurred to me only yesterday that I should share the bouquet in its entirety, so I am to the right but a few of the roses had already wilted away since I took the top photograph the first day. Follow me on Instagram @AquariannArt if you want to see another photo of the roses in full bloom when I post them for Wordless Wednesday.
Also, I just wanted to let you know that I do my fairy best to post my flower hop by Friday morning, but sometimes life comes along and I can't. I appreciate your patience and every single one of your visits.
Featured Flower Picks:
Sissinghurst Castle Garden • Misty Morning Roses • Red Daisy Art
How To Plant Your Own Post for Flower Friday:
The only rule to play is that you can only add one link per week! The post doesn't even have to mention flowers, but only ones that do will be eligible for being picked as a feature next week. I will be sharing my flower image on other blog hops, namely Wordless Wednesday, and welcome all family-friendly links from fellow bloggers. Crafters can even link up an Etsy listing or other shop product! But if you want to promote a prize, please add it to my Giveaway Chest Linky instead to entice more treasure hunters.
Please follow my blog through any of the social media icons in the upper right sidebar to receive a reminder to return next week. Adding my button or a text link to your own blog and sharing to your followers is also a fairy appreciated way to help my hop grow.

Have a nice weekend
Super flowers and I love the pink rose. The color combination is very pretty. Thanks for linking with Today's Flowers and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSorry Kristin but I think that they're 'night-scented stock' not fuschia but I could be wrong! Have a look & let me know what you think! https://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A9mSs2vfaNtW3IwAVEBLBQx.;_ylu=X3oDMTE0cGs5cThkBGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDVUlVS0MwMV8xBHNlYwNzYw--?p=Stock+Flowers&fr=ush-mailn
ReplyDeleteand just a little tip for helping roses to last longer: bash (or chew) the ends of the stalks to help the woody stems absorb the water & try putting an aspirin in the water or the teeniest drop of bleach (helps to kill off bacteria).
DeleteThank you for all the tips, Kate! And you were right again! I went to Longwood Gardens today and found the stock flowers in fuchsia. They're called Matthiola incana, 'Katz Ruby.'

ReplyDeleteThe flowers are gorgeous. How can you beat that price? $4? That is unheard of. :) Thank you for stopping by to link up at my blog. The rolls that I posted about are high fiber/low carb and Ogre could easily fit one or two into his 50 carb or less diet. :) They are full of psyllium husk fiber too...I neglected to mention that. :)Thanks for the linky!!!
