Before I retreated to the rocks and waterfalls of the mountains on an anniversary vacation last week, I took a late summer stroll around a friend's yard to photograph her garden. My favorite were the hibiscus flowers spilling over the back yard's gate. As you can tell, my camera doesn't cooperate with the color red, especially on sunny days. I feel like I captured a waking dream about the flowers instead of what they truly looked like, but the petals are pretty in any light.
