Jewelry Giveaway: Elf Ear Cuffs by Thyme2dream

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Michelle Tucker for submitting the randomly-chosen 1222nd entry. No need to keep an ear to the ground for the latest in fairy fashions - I have the lowdown that will lift your sparkly slippers into the air right here. Karla debuted a delightful design in her Thyme2dream Ear Dreams collection this month! Her new elf ears are easy to wear ear wrap cuffs that require no piercings at all, can be worn with or without regular earrings and fit easily over the back of the ear. The elven jewelry is crafted using nickel-free wire with a non-tarnish coat that makes it comfortable to wear even for allergy sufferers. Want to hear even better news? Karla's so excited to spread the word about her new product that she's giving away one pair of elf ear cuffs in winner's choice of color! (Shown above is her Sugarplum color scheme in plum and ivory tones.) One of the additional ways to enter to win is to sign up for her newsletter, w...

Snowflake Fairy Art Card

I was hoping I'd have a stunning snow photograph to post today, but Winter Storm Juno didn't reach southern Delaware as expected. For those that were hit, stay safe and warm! For those that weren't and are still wishing for white magic, I'm sharing my snowflake fairy drawing instead. I have one winter fairy art bookmark left in my Etsy shop, and will send a free matching magnet to the buyer that gives her a good home.

Manicure Monday: Love Potion Nail Art by Jamberry Nails

Red lipstick may look sexy, but I get kissed more often when I don't wear it. Ogre's not a fan of the false feeling. He doesn't have a problem with me wearing red lips on my fingernails, though. The Love Potion manicure that Catherine sent me turned out lovely! The mix of red hearts, cupids and kisses are perfect for Valentine's Day. Don't be late for your date with Jamberry Nails, enter Catherine's Jamberry Giveaway before 11:59pm EST on February 5, 2015. She's giving away a nail design sheet of winner's choice, which contains enough nail wraps to apply a full set of two manicures and two pedicures. Want to be a guest blogger for my Manicure Monday when I don't have new nails of my own to show off? Please contact me using the form on my contact page if you're interested in a free feature. Or if you've done a Valentine's Day manicure in the past, comment with the link and I'll add it to my featured finds below. Red Lips Na...

WW: Green Chameleon at RainForest Zoo

If this veiled chameleon lived in my guest room instead of the RainForest Adventures Discovery Zoo in Tennessee, he'd probably change colors this week! We're replacing the dingy cream carpet with beautiful laminate wood panels.

Valentine's Day Giveaway: Jamberry Nail Wraps Sheet from Jams By Catherine

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Shannon Baas for submitting the randomly-chosen 760th entry. Being a shy soul, I rarely wore my heart on my sleeve - until I met my Ogre. Now that I'm head over pedicure in love, I'm happy to share heart symbols everywhere, including my fingernails. And I'm not the only one that will be wearing a heart manicure for Valentine's Day. Catherine Colavecchio, a Jamberry independent consultant, is giving away winner's choice of Jamberry Nails sheet, which provides enough nail wraps to apply a full set of two manicures and two pedicures. Many of you have read my ravings about how Jamberry offers an array of awesome nail art designs without the hassle and smell of nail polish. If not, her Jams By Catherine website contains everything you need to know about Jamberry Nails, Jamberry Nail Wraps and the great business opportunity. Here's a little love note that Catherine asked me to pass to my readers: "I in...

WW: Snow on White Magnolia Tree Leaves

I'm already daydreaming about spring and white flowers blooming on the magnolia tree outside my office, but its leaves still looks pretty in the winter when sprinkled with snow.

Valentine Jewelry Giveaway: Heart Bracelet by WXdruid Chainmail

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Huguette English for submitting the randomly-chosen 948th entry. Can you believe my first date with Ogre was on Valentine's Day? I could barely hear him over the boom of my beating heart! It's funny to remember that I was ever that nervous around him, now that we've been together for almost eight years. Our souls are woven together, just like the jump rings in chainmaille jewelry. To celebrate true love, Jennifer from WXdruid Chainmail is giving away a heart bracelet for Valentine's Day. The beautiful bracelet was designed using red and gold anodized aluminum jump rings. Jennifer loves working with anodized aluminum because there are so many vibrant colors available to combine in creative ways. She chose to weave a gridlock Byzantine pattern that closes with a golden heart-shaped toggle clasp for the lovely prize. The chain mail bracelet measures 8.5 inches long, 0.5 inch wide and fits comfortably on a 6-6.5 in...

WW: The Sinks Waterfalls at Meigs Creek Trail

After discovering Meigs Falls in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we continued back toward our Tennessee resort - and couldn't resist stopping again at the sight of The Sinks. Water falling over rock is so captivating! I took a photograph of the Meigs Creek Trail sign to remember to explore that pretty path more if we ever get to go back during a season when it's warmer.

Treasury Tuesday: Warmth for a Winter Day

Brrr, Delaware's weather forecast is threatening that the temperature will drop as low as 20 degrees this week. I need all the warm thoughts I can get so I turned to Phyllis from Rosy Days Scarves . Her handmade gift ideas from an SPS team game include unique fancy felted hat by filcAlki, upcycled scarf pillow by Cloud Hunter and my White Rabbit art magnet .

Handmade Trove: Mother of Pearl Earrings by Rica Jewels

I rarely make New Year's resolutions, but this year I am determined to harmonize my home. First on my list is organizing my jewelry collection. 2014 marked my fifth year of hosting and entering giveaways, so I've collected quite a bit of bling for free. The last (but not least) addition to arrive before the new year was these magnificent Mother of Pearl earrings by Rica Jewels . I'm taking the arrival as a good sign for 2015, because Mother of Pearl is said to attract prosperity. The shiny shell earrings certainly made me feel like a million bucks when I wore them on New Year's Eve! But I'm not bogarting all the good fortune to myself. One of my readers will win another pair of Mother of Pearl earrings from Rica Jewels. Don't miss your chance to enter Jewelry Giveaway before January 10, 2015. Disclaimer: I received these free earrings as a thank you gift for hosting a jewelry giveaway. If you think your creations would harmonize with my whimsical rambli...
