Give It Up for 2013 Delaware State Fair Dance Mob

"Look at me boy
'Cause I got you
Where I want you
Isn't it so exciting?"
- Give It Up by Victorious Cast

Last month I could barely contain my excitement when I stumbled across a press release in the Cape Gazette inviting anyone to participate in a flash mob at the 2013 Delaware State Fair. Michele Xiques (she directed the Pirates of the Caribbean ballet I raved about last year) and Gene Knowland from First State Academy of Dance choreographed a fun routine to a Victorious Cast song. The video was then uploaded to YouTube and I spent two nights playing and rewinding it to learn the moves.

My spirits dipped when none of my friends were comfortable performing the dance in such a short amount of time, but I was determined to check it off my bucket list. Despite not knowing any other dancers, most of which were at least half my age, I was able to rock it out with the support of my parents in the crowd as cheerleaders and videographers. For those not used to seeing me without fairy wings, I'm the girl in the gray shirt and black vest.

Pivoting out of my comfort zone was a fun way to get ready for National Dance Day, exactly one week later. Anyone else attempting to learn either of Dizzy Feet Foundation's routines by Saturday, July 27?

  3. What party poopers. Who cares if your dance moves aren't quite right because you're just learning the moves? Some folks don't know how to have fun.

  19. That looks like so much fun. And while it's scary to have to work up the courage to do something doesn't it feel great once you've done it? Hope you have a great day.

Giveaway: Clear Quartz Dagger Earrings by WireQueen

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over! Congratulations to the randomly chosen 108th commenter, Andalene! Accessorize an outfit and rejuvenate your spirit at the same time! Michelle of WireQueen is bequeathing a beautiful pair of clear quartz earrings to one of my readers. The design is named "Midwife Healer" in honor of the midwife that delivered her second daughter. The four sided dagger beads are different lengths and embraced by sterling silver wrap with surgical steel earwires. She has already cleared the crystals, but if you ever need to recharge or remove unwanted energy, simply place in a window that is beaming with sunlight. Michelle believes that the Creator gave to all things a purpose, including gemstones. She covers as little of the "face" of the stone as possible, but still secures it safely in its setting. She has customers who are still wearing creations that are over 10 years old! She's been selling jewelry offline for years, but only recently began...
