WW: Painted Lady Butterfly Stowaway

Orange Butterfly Lady Photo

Did you spot my orange butterfly stowaway? What fun fate that the morning after I post Athenianaire's Real Butterfly Jewelry Giveaway, my friend Melissa shares this photo she took of me when we were on a Delaware Bay cruise last summer. I was so intent on capturing a picture of the Tall Ship at sunset that I had absolutely no idea that my messy, windswept hair had attracted a pretty painted lady butterfly!

  11. We have a butterfly house at our science museum here in Seattle. It is my happy place every winter. I always hope one will land on me, but chasing after kids and making sure they don't stomp on any never let's me stand still long enough. One of these days though, one of these days!

  15. This is a very special sequence to me...

My late first wife--who went on to the next plane of existence six years ago yesterday--loved butterflies & adopted them as her soul symbol. We went to visit many live butterfly habitats, & it used to drive her crazy (with a smidge of envy) that butterflies would always seem to land on me!

Love you always, Abigayl...you're always in my heart....

Thanks for sharing these photographs, Aquariann.

Giveaway: Clear Quartz Dagger Earrings by WireQueen

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over! Congratulations to the randomly chosen 108th commenter, Andalene! Accessorize an outfit and rejuvenate your spirit at the same time! Michelle of WireQueen is bequeathing a beautiful pair of clear quartz earrings to one of my readers. The design is named "Midwife Healer" in honor of the midwife that delivered her second daughter. The four sided dagger beads are different lengths and embraced by sterling silver wrap with surgical steel earwires. She has already cleared the crystals, but if you ever need to recharge or remove unwanted energy, simply place in a window that is beaming with sunlight. Michelle believes that the Creator gave to all things a purpose, including gemstones. She covers as little of the "face" of the stone as possible, but still secures it safely in its setting. She has customers who are still wearing creations that are over 10 years old! She's been selling jewelry offline for years, but only recently began...
