Engagment Anniversary Afterglow

Engagement AfterglowTime has flown by in the blink of a diamond sparkle! It's hard to believe that it's been exactly a year since our adventure in Arizona, where Justin surprised me by proposing under the stars. The picture to the right was taken after I flitted into the hotel so I could see the ring glitter in more than moonlight.

Life has been a whirlwind, especially this last month with combining our two houses into one home. We have a treasure chest full of ideas for our wedding, but no decisions on when or where to walk the plank - just that the special day be pirate themed! I already found a $50 gown fit for a queen wench. I won't even have to worry about wearing something blue because the fabric of the corset is a cerulean and golden yellow swirl jacquard. I can't show a photograph openly for fear of Ogre eyes, but just ask, and I'll whisper the link in an email.

Days Inn Courtyard in Camp VerdeI can, however, share more images of Arizona landscapes and tourist attractions! To the left is the Days Inn courtyard the day after we got engaged in it, illuminated in sunlight and overlooking Camp Verde.

I didn't blog about the rest of the vacation as I'd hoped would happen, but I am going to post more of my arsenal of over 300 photos in the Wordless Wednesdays to come. The captures might not be as amusing as yesterday's hike Over A Mountain in Tucson, but they are pretty, so stay tuned.

Makeup Giveaway: All Natural Mineral Cosmetics by Madison Street Beauty

EDIT: Giveaway is officially closed. Congratulations to Rita Szlovencsák for submitting the randomly chosen 57th entry. Perhaps it's the hot weather and the drought in Delaware, but I have been daydreaming about being a mermaid. That's why I gleamed to discover the Etsy Blog's Mermaid Makeup Tutorial when looking through the list of articles where my new giveaway sponsor's products have shimmered. Madison Street Beauty has dozens of magnificent eye shadow colors that could enhance the sexy siren in any creature. One lucky winner will even get to choose five full size eye shadows, as well as a foundation, a setting powder and a blush or bronzer sample for free. Amethyst, an opaque vegan eyeshadow of medium purple, would be my first pick, fins down. Look at those sparkles! If choosing only five colors is too difficult, why not try some natural samples first? The owners, Bridget and Rhys, are currently celebrating their one year Etsyversary and offering an astonish...

Handmade Giveaway: Scarf from Elizabeth Koh

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Susana Silva for submitting the randomly-chosen 392nd entry. Normal people go to the beach in the summer, but I prefer autumn when it's more peaceful. The weather may be chilly, but that's why scarves come in handy! Not to mention that they're also a fun fashion accessory. One winner will get to choose any scarf under $40 from Elizabeth Koh to heat up an outfit. Elizabeth Koh is not one person, but two - both Janelle and Megan's middle names are Elizabeth, and Koh means island in Thailand, where they handcraft all their cotton and silk scarves. Every collection is named after a beach or island in Thailand and feature a range of weights for wearing in several seasons. Elizabeth Koh is committed to improving the communities where their products are made, so 10% of proceeds are donated to SOS Children's Villages in Thailand. Not only will you help feed others by buying a scarf this holiday season, you'll al...
